Garth Cook, Ed. D.

Senior Leader, Education Relations, Boeing South Carolina

Garth CookDr. Cook is currently a senior leader supporting several site initiatives including building University Relations with the College of Charleston, developing the Site Leadership Development Strategy and Curriculum, enhancing New Employee On-boarding processes, collaborating with Ready-SC and Trident Technical College to deliver requisite employee training, and partnering with local K-12 Internship Programs.

Previously the director of quality assurance on the 787 program from mid-2008 thru mid-2010, he led a team of 250 Quality Assurance and Liaison Engineer employees in supporting mid-body fuselage join and assembly, while teaming with international partners from Japan and Italy.

A 2008 graduate of Seattle University’s Doctor of Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) program, Dr. Cook minored in athletic administration, while writing his dissertation on Common Ethical Dilemmas and Leadership Challenges Facing High School Athletic Directors in Puget Sound Secondary Schools. This dissertation combined his passion for sport with the reality of leaders facing ever-growing dilemmas and challenges despite lacking necessary training to do so.  He also earned an MBA from City University in Seattle. 

With 25 years of leadership experience in commercial and (U.S.M.C) military aviation, he enjoys serving and mentoring both students and employees while instilling a disciplined and scholarly commitment to their academic and personal growth. He will begin his adjunct teaching position in the College of Charleston School of Business this fall and also taught at Seattle University. 

He was a member of the Leadership Institute, South Puget Sound Chapter.  He and his family now reside on Daniel Island, SC.
