Wilbur E. Johnson serves as managing partner at Young Clement Rivers, LLP, and practices primarily in the area of employment and labor law. Until 1994, Wilbur worked as an assistant attorney general in the office of the Attorney General of South Carolina and was the recipient of the Earl Warren Legal Training Fellowship. He graduated from Augusta State University with a bachelor of arts in 1976 and went on to earn his J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina in 1979. The same year, he was admitted to practice for the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina in 1979 and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, in 1981.
Johnson is very active in the Charleston community and across the state in both professional and civic organizations. In addition to his numerous bar affiliations, he is a board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, the National Association of College and University Attorneys, and the International Association of Defense Counsel. Johnson is a current board member and past chair of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
